With the advent of new technology and the use of used wood in material, an exponential number of choices have become available. Whether you would like a barn door, flooring or paneling made from reclaimed barn wood, mass timber for a new deck or cabinets, fallen redwood trees from California for a living room table, end table made from used bourbon or wine barrels, each project has its own story to tell. At The McCarthy Project, the following areas are discussed around material selection; the intention and who is using the end product, its style, size, budget and the environment used.
At the foundational level, we like to re-purpose material, it adds to the story. Re-purposing is not always feasible, the project and budget will present the answer. All products used intend to support the local businesses in our community and primarily made in the USA.
